Hi folks! Welcome back to our development progress log this week we continued work on assets and elements that we have already implemented and working through the pipelines needed to complete things

Hayley continued work on the 3D character sculpts, adding some texture with a TrimDynamic brush in ZBrush to take away some of the smoothness of the sculptures and then started the characters retopology in Maya, for optimisation we’re aiming for a fairly low poly count for all our assets 

Holly worked on creating a basic blockout sketch and colour for the sprite sheets that will be used to make up the environment background! She has also been working on sculpting God statues in ZBrush which will serve as waypoints/respawn points! 





Jesse has been working on concepting up some GUI design options for all our menus and game interface, that includes things such as cursors and button designs. The GUI is designed to keep the mushroom and forest aesthetic that we’ve stylized our game around.

Azshywn continued work on some platform blockouts and started sculpting them inside of ZBrush as well so we can get more defined and detailed environment platforms

This week designer Zachariah has been developing the playable tutorial level for play testing the game.


Brodie & Charlie have been working on implementing platforms, enemies and obstacles to the main level scene. The middle area and top area are near completion with the aim to start full build playtesting by next week.

This week our programmers have been working towards getting systems ready for the tutorial and first area of The Heart of the Forest. This includes a dialogue systems, Menu systems, Audio, NPC & Enemy AI as well as lots of playtesting and bug fixing.

Lewis has been working on the dialogue system for NPCs, 


Nick has been working on the Spore enemy and NPC AI.

Spore enemy fires a projectile which calculates the correct angle and velocity to hit the player.


Villager AI including Idle, Wander and Interact States, as well as using Lewis’ dialogue system.


Jazmin has been working on scene transition and menu functionality.


I (Nghia) have implemented Player and Enemy audio.
